Taken directly as sap from the rubber tree, latex is a white, dense liquid made from rubber in water. There are two types: natural, obtained from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree from plantations in Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America, and synthetic, produced through different artificial processes that aim to imitate the properties of the natural one.
What should I consider when choosing a latex mattress?
Below we will detail the most important points when choosing one latex mattress model or another, taking into account that these points will vary depending on the preferences the user has for their rest.
- The first thing we have to analyze is its composition itself; previously we saw that there are two types of latex, natural and synthetic, so we will have to choose between one or the other depending on the money we want to spend and considering that no matter how well a synthetic one emulates a natural one, we will never get a perfect imitation and always ask for the certificate that guarantees that it is indeed natural latex.
- A second point is the height of the latex block, preferably we recommend it to exceed 16 cm for proper functioning and appreciation of the latex qualities.
- The third property is directly related to the 7 comfort zones, since we must choose which mattress has the best 7 zones depending on how it adapts to our body, and also the type of cover and the treatments applied to it according to our needs and/or priorities.
What advantages does choosing a latex product have?
- We achieve perfect ventilation to ensure continuous air circulation through it and thus proper airing and moisture elimination.
- Excellent body adaptation thanks to its great elastic capacity.
- Hypoallergenic ability with treatments to avoid allergens and eliminate mold, bacteria, and mites.
- Guarantees environmental sustainability and respect for human beings.
- Offers us a long durability, above average.
- We have the guarantee that it is indeed latex, so we quickly discard counterfeits.
What is the difference between natural and synthetic latex?
Synthetic latex is completely chemical and comes from petroleum, while natural latex is pure, extracted directly from the tree and can be considered 100% natural if it contains at least 80% natural latex in its composition.

What density should I choose in a latex mattress?
Density indicates how much latex material exists per cubic meter of our product (kg/m3), the higher the density, the better quality we get.
We recommend a density between 70 and 75 Kg/m3 especially for its great effectiveness in back problems and providing great softness and adaptation.
Do latex mattresses get hot?
Being a material that adapts perfectly to your body, some users may experience a sinking sensation, and consequently, having more surface contact with the person using it will cause a greater sensation of heat.
One tip is to inform yourself about the mattress's breathability capacity, choose a fabric that offers better ventilation and breathability. It should be noted that synthetic latex, not having the breathability of natural latex, can enhance that sensation of heat, although there are protective covers with appropriate treatments to relieve the heat sensation.
How long does a latex mattress last?
In terms of duration, a latex mattress really makes a difference. While other mattresses after 10 years show quite significant quality deficiencies, a latex mattress has only lost a small percentage of its height and firmness, so we can affirm that a good latex mattress meets the strictest quality standards.
Like European legislation, we recommend that when you buy the mattress, make sure it has a minimum aging resistance coefficient of 80% so you can enjoy a good useful life.
Does a latex mattress have moisture?
To avoid moisture buildup in our mattress, we must be careful with its maintenance. First of all, never place it on an upholstered or varnished base, on a canapé with base, or on slatted bases with plastic laminates. The most suitable supports are those that offer excellent breathability, such as a wooden slatted bed base or a fiberglass laminate.
We recommend airing the mattress at least once a week and not using any type of covering or accessory with plastic layers as they will prevent proper breathability.
Whenever possible, avoid installing it in very old houses or places with high humidity concentration.

What is the optimal height for latex mattresses?
We recommend that the total height of our mattress be at least 18 cm including the core, which we also recommend to exceed 15 cm in height.
The degree of comfort and the level of useful life may increase if we have a greater height. The higher the height, the greater the comfort and durability.
How to preserve a latex mattress?
- When unpacking the product, it is advisable to let it air for a few hours in a place with proper ventilation since, without being harmful, a new mattress may initially emit certain factory odors.
- In the first 6 months, we recommend flipping the mattress every week so that the fillings can settle properly and thus avoid excessive marks from body weight. After this period, it is recommended to turn the mattress once a month lengthwise and widthwise.
- We recommend protecting the mattress with a cover that is not made of plastic fabrics; try to make it breathable.
- Always use a base with good breathability to avoid moisture stains or deformations.
We recommend wooden slatted bed bases.
Is synthetic latex bad for health?
Synthetic latex does not contain any harmful components in its composition or used in its manufacture, so we can state with full certainty that it is not harmful to health.
