1. Functions of the Nordic Duvet
The first thing we must consider is the function of the Nordic duvet and the main function is to insulate, insulate from the cold and retain heat, therefore we must take into account its insulating property which will always depend on the filling material and the amount of it used knowing that the more quantity we have, the greater insulating power we will obtain.
2. Duvet or blanket?
The advantages of the duvet over the blanket are numerous:
- More lightweight, since it can be filled with feathers or acrylic.
- More comfort since it does not exert as much weight and pressure on the body as a blanket.
- Great thermal effectiveness, thus avoiding the overlapping of blankets one on top of the other since by itself it already equals more than one blanket.
- Simplifies the daily bed making.
- We can do without using a top sheet.
- Wide variety of covers in colors and patterns that will allow us to change the appearance quite frequently.

3. What fillings are there for Nordic duvets?
To correctly choose your Nordic duvet we must know well the two different fillings:
- Natural fillings: basically a natural filling refers to those duvets that are filled with feathers or down thus presenting an excellent thermal insulation since down absorbs moisture and does not allow heat to escape maintaining an adequate temperature but feather-filled ones retain the quill or solid part attached to it which makes them not have as good insulating power.
- Synthetic fillings: they can be made of conventional fibers, microfibers or hollow polyester fibers and their function is to imitate natural down. Hollow polyester fibers have great breathability and possess a great insulating capacity besides being hypoallergenic, easier to clean than natural fillings. On the other hand, microfiber fillings better simulate natural down in terms of volume and insulation being composed of hypoallergenic and polyester. A very good option due to their affordable price and good insulation.

4. What filling density to choose in Nordic duvets?
The filling density or weight is measured in gr/m2, the higher the density the greater the warmth and protection against the cold, what we must keep in mind is that to match a down duvet of approximately 200 gr/m2, we need double the density of a feather one and much more concentration of a synthetic one. All weight indications must be perfectly indicated on the product label.
5. What type of stitching to choose in Nordic duvets?
The insulating property of the duvet is given or guaranteed depending on the formation of air chambers inside the duvet whose main task is to ensure that the filling of the duvet is evenly distributed throughout the duvet, thus eliminating hollow areas. We recommend stitching in the form of large squares as it excellently divides the inside of the Nordic duvet and the air chambers
6. How to choose the length of the Nordic duvet?
When choosing the length of our Nordic duvet, we must consider two basic factors, one is our height or the height of the person who will use it and the other is if we or the person who will use it are restless sleepers and move a lot during the night.
If the person who will use it is restless, it is advisable to buy a fairly long Nordic duvet so as not to be left uncovered during the night while if the person who will use it sleeps calmly, it is enough to buy one a little longer than your height.
